- Loving and gentle they get along great with kids and other pets including dogs
- Love interacting and "helping" their human in everyday tasks, but usually not demaning attention
- Very dog like and many will play fetch

Fur/Grooming:
- long triple coat with guard hairs (the outer coat), awn hairs (the middle part of the coat) and a downy undercoat.
- hair is textured and glossy decreasing the occurance of matting
- guard hairs are waterproof making it difficult to get the cat fully soaked if a bath is required
- an abundant ruff around the neck, thick but slightly shorter hair on the shoulder blades and lower part of the chest, and thick fur on the belly and britches (the upper hind legs), may have tips on ears
- The undercoat thickens in cold weather, lending to a coat that is soo soft and full you can't help but pet them !
- Seasonal moulting in spring and fall to obtain Summer and Winter Coats
- Every cat is different but with my 2 I notice very little shedding, my dog sheds more !
- Frequent brushing to keep mats down especially in the underarm area
Size:
- one of the slowest maturing of the cat breeds taking up to 5 years to reach their full size and potential
- weights can range from 9 lbs for a small female up to 25 for a large neutered male
- stockier build than most cats
- have a slight arch to their back due to the fact that their hind legs are a bit longer than the front this contributes to their great agility and athleticism
